Why Choose 12 Days Egypt Tours?

Egypt is a land where history meets adventure, and 12 Days Holidays in Egypt allow you to embrace both. Twelve days give you the flexibility to cover Egypt’s must-see cities without feeling rushed. You’ll have time to wander the bustling streets of Cairo, dive into the archaeological treasures of Luxor and Aswan, explore Alexandria’s Mediterranean charm, and still save space for leisure on the Red Sea coast.

Unlike shorter trips, a 12 Days Egypt Vacation strikes the perfect balance between sightseeing and downtime. It’s also an ideal choice for families, couples, or solo travelers looking for a comprehensive journey without missing out on the diversity Egypt offers. Choosing an Egypt Tour Package not only saves you planning stress but also gives you access to expert local guides who bring history to life.

Day 1–2: Arrival in Cairo and the Giza Plateau

Your adventure begins in Cairo, the beating heart of Egypt. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your tour representative and transferred to your hotel to relax.

The following day, the magic begins with a guided visit to the Giza Plateau. Here, you’ll marvel at the Great Pyramid of Khufu—the last surviving wonder of the ancient world—along with the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Don’t miss the enigmatic Sphinx, standing guard for thousands of years.

In the afternoon, visit Saqqara, home to the Step Pyramid of Djoser, and Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt. Round off the evening with a stroll through Cairo’s lively Khan El Khalili Bazaar for souvenirs and authentic Egyptian street food.

Day 3: Alexandria – The Pearl of the Mediterranean

On your third day, head north for a day trip to Alexandria, a city that reflects Egypt’s cosmopolitan side. Explore the Qaitbay Citadel, built on the site of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria. Wander through the underground Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a fascinating blend of Egyptian, Roman, and Greek architecture.

Relax at the Montazah Gardens, where the sea breeze and royal palace views create a refreshing contrast to Cairo’s intensity. By evening, return to Cairo to prepare for your journey to Upper Egypt.

Day 4–5: Luxor’s West Bank Treasures

Fly or take the train to Luxor, often called the “world’s greatest open-air museum.” Begin with the West Bank, home to the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs including Tutankhamun were laid to rest. Visit the Valley of the Queens, the elegant Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon.

For travelers seeking something truly memorable, consider an early morning hot air balloon ride over Luxor. The aerial views of temples and the Nile at sunrise are a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day 6–7: Luxor’s East Bank and Start of the Nile Cruise

Shift to the East Bank of Luxor with a visit to the majestic Karnak Temple, a vast complex featuring colossal columns and sacred lakes. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinxes, recently restored to connect Karnak with Luxor Temple, which comes alive when illuminated at night.

From here, board your Nile Cruise to begin your journey south. Cruises combine comfort and culture, offering guided visits to riverside temples, onboard entertainment, and the relaxing rhythm of sailing along the Nile.

Day 8–9: Sailing to Edfu and Kom Ombo

As the cruise sails onward, you’ll stop at Edfu, where the Temple of Horus awaits. It’s one of Egypt’s best-preserved temples, showcasing fascinating inscriptions about ancient rituals. Continue to Kom Ombo, a unique double temple dedicated to both Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the falcon god. Don’t miss the Crocodile Museum, which houses mummified crocodiles from the region.

Evenings on the cruise are perfect for relaxation—enjoy traditional Egyptian dance performances, stargazing on the deck, or simply watching the Nile’s scenery unfold.

Day 10: Aswan’s Timeless Beauty

Arrive in Aswan, a city known for its peaceful ambiance and Nubian culture. Visit the Philae Temple, dedicated to Isis and beautifully relocated after the High Dam’s construction. Stop at the Unfinished Obelisk, which offers insight into ancient stone-cutting techniques, and admire the Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering marvel.

For an authentic cultural experience, take a felucca ride on the Nile or visit a Nubian village, where vibrant colors and warm hospitality make for an unforgettable afternoon.

Day 11: The Majestic Abu Simbel

No 12 Days Egypt Vacation is complete without a visit to Abu Simbel. These temples, carved out of solid rock by Ramses II, are a breathtaking sight and a testament to Egypt’s grandeur. The journey is long, but the reward of standing before these colossal statues is worth every moment.

After returning to Aswan, enjoy your last evening on the cruise with a farewell dinner.

Day 12: Red Sea Relaxation in Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh

To balance history with leisure, the final day takes you to the Red Sea coast. Depending on your preference, you can fly or drive to Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh. Spend the day snorkeling, diving among coral reefs, or simply unwinding on golden beaches. Desert safaris are another option for adventurous travelers.

It’s the perfect way to end your 12 Days Holidays in Egypt—a mix of culture, adventure, and pure relaxation before your departure.
